disable jeeps or kill the passengers in light jeeps. Claymores will not 
do any damage to heavy vehicles.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Reduced the spot times on C4 and Claymore projectiles from 30 to 15 sec.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">The Radio Beacon, Mortar, Mav, EOD bot, T-UGS, and SOFLAM should now be much easier to deploy.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">C4 will no longer be detonatable after a player respawns, if the
 player is revived within 5 seconds he can still detonate his C4.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">The player may now have a maximum number of mines which will 
persist after the player’s death. Deploying more than the maximum of 6 
mines will remove a previous mine from the world.
</span><p><span style="font-style: italic;"></span></p></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Claymores now also persist through death, the player can have 2 claymores planted.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">9x39mm rounds no longer benefit from the Sniper headshot bonus.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Increased the damage of the 9x39mm rounds.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Fixed the AKS74u damage at max range, it was incorrectly higher than other carbines.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Increased the damage of the .357 and .44 magnum rounds at max range.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">All semiautomatic and bolt weapons, including all shotgun slugs, now have their maximum damage out to 15m.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Semiautomatic sniper rifles, Assault Rifles, LMGs, and shotgun slugs now have more consistent damage over long range.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Tweaked IRNV to be more consistent across all levels.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Fixed a rendering issue with IRNV view when taking damage.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Tweaked the IRNV zoom times and scope visible areas to be the same across all weapons (some were faster than others).</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Fixed the QBU-88 sniper and the L96 IRNV scopes to use the proper aiming reticule.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">The spread for Flechette rounds has been reduced slightly on all shotguns.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">The spread for buckshot has been reduced on the M1014, DAO-12, 
and S12k. These weapons have an accuracy advantage over the USAS12 but 
are not as accurate as the 870.</span></li><li><span style="font-style: italic;">Semiautomatic weapons will no longer "jam” if the player presses
 fire faster than the weapon is capable of shooting. Some semi automatic
 weapons have had their rates of fire adjusted to fit this change.

Just days ago, DICE released a huge Battlefield 3 PC patch weighing in 
at 450MB, fixing a whole slew of issues However, some of the promised fixes didn’t make it into the patch.</p>
<p>For instance, the tactical flashlights did not get fixed as previously <a href="http://bf3blog.com/2011/11/battlefield-3-flashlights-toned-down-in-new-update/">promised</a>, and neither did the change/nerf to the <a href="http://bf3blog.com/2011/11/battlefield-3s-infrared-scope-getting-balanced-out/">IRNV infrared sight</a>. But fear not, those changes will be made in the upcoming patch DICE is currently working on.</p>
<p>Here’s a list of confirmed items/changes that will be addressed in an upcoming Battlefield 3 patch, as posted on Battlelog:</p>
<ul><li>In-game VOIP addition</li><li>Tactical light nerf</li><li>Chat window changes (size, positioning)</li><li>New squad changes (ability to make squads)</li></ul>

   Major client update for the PC version Battlefield 3 as well as a server-side update for all platforms. <br>

Today's PC client patch features numerous tweaks to Squad  functionality
 and is part of our ongoing efforts to make it easier to  play with 
friends and Platoon mates. These changes will also be  implemented for 
consoles when we release the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360  updates 
shortly. Stay tuned for the exact date of the console updates. <br>

First, we need to look at how joining with Squads and Platoons  affects 
the balance of teams. Initially, servers are commanded to equal  out 
each side, so joining with friends can impact that balance while  
joining with Platoons further hinders this. As a result we have made  
some adjustments to the in-game Squad management screen. <br>
  <br>
For PC, you are now able to highlight the various Squads and select  
which one you wish to join by selecting a Squad and then clicking the  
Join Squad button. Please note that the Squad Privacy option still  
allows 2 man Squads which, during 64 player sessions, can lead to  
players with no squad position –- the number of people with no Squads  
will be shown at the bottom of the Squad selection list. <br>

After the patch is applied to consoles (in the near future) you will  be

There was initially some confusion of how <a title="Battlefield 3 Back To Karkand" href="http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-back-to-karkand/">Back To Karkand</a>
 would be played on servers, whether it would be part of the same 
rotation as regular maps, or perhaps as Bad Company 2 Vietnam. EA has 
now clarified the issue via <a href="https://twitter.com/#%21/Battlefield/status/135064232994672640">Twitter</a>,
 stating that Back To Karkand will be integrated into regular 
Battlefield 3, and will be part of the same map rotation. In other 
words, there’s no need to play on separate servers just for Back To 
Karkand.</p>
<p>Back to Karkand will be released next month and will include 10 new 
weapons, 4 new maps and 3 new vehicles, plus a new game mode called 
Conquest Assault. </p>

EA has announced (via <a href="https://twitter.com/#%21/Battlefield/status/135079725499559938">Twitter</a>)
 that over the past week, they’ve banned "hundreds of offending 
accounts” in regards to Battlefield 3, and added that they’ve also stats
 wiped the accounts of those who were "boosting”, e.g. using in-game 
glitches to boost their score. EA will continue to monitor players and 
"take action” against players who don’t respect the game. The bans 
happened across all platforms. </p>
<p>Over the past week, there have been revelations of a new boosting 
technique where players could rake in tens of thousands of points during
 a match by misusing the repair tool. We won’t go into details of the 
technique for obvious reasons, but it’s good to see EA and DICE taking 
quick and decisive action against cheaters and boosters. </p>

 just tweeted some Before and After Screenshots of the nerfed Tactical 
Light. Looks like the effect has been turned down a lot. If you compare 
the two Screenshots, you see that you can now actually spot the Player 
behind the bright Light. It’s nice from DICE that they’re showing us the
 changes they make to the game with Screenshots like this.</p>

<p>We 
were pretty stoked about this and some great new information came out 
about the Upcoming Battlefield 3 expansion pack, Back to Karkand.<br></p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: bold;">Unlocks carried over to Vanilla BF3</span></h2>
<p>All the weapons that you unlock while playing Back to Karkand expansion pack will be usable when playing Battlefield 3.</p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: bold;">Introducing Assignments</span></h2>
<p>WIth Back to Karkand will come a new feature called "Assignments”. 
These will essentially be objective based tasks you can accept and will 
gain rewards from it.</p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: bold;">Enhanced Destruction</span></h2>
<p>The Destruction will be turned up a new level in Back to karkand.</p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: bold;">Maps with BF2 Flag Structure</span></h2>
<p>The levels in Back to Karkand will bring back the traditional 
Conquest Assault Gameplay. What this means is one team will start off 
with most of the flags, and the other team will have to capture those. 
This is the traditional map format we saw in&nbsp;Battlefield&nbsp;2.</p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: bold;">Karkand stats contribute to global stats</span></h2>
<p>Everything you earn in Karkand will be contributed towards your soldier’s global score.</p>
<h2><span style="font-weight: bold;">All game modes available</span></h2>
<p>You’ll be able to play all gamemodes on back to Karkand maps. That means Rush on Wake Island, oh lala!</p>

<p>Just two weeks after the launch of Battlefield 3, there has already 
been some server updates and today, a new patch for Battlelog. You’ll 
notice at the bottom of your battlelog on PC that you’ll have to update 
the web plugin in the game manager. New options have been added as per 
request of the community such as a more&nbsp;enhanced&nbsp;Server Browser, 
Punkbuster checks, and other nice fixes. Here is the complete Change 
list. It’s great to see enhancements to the system so soon after 
release.</p>
